Rossi, Wallstedt among Wild prospects excited for preseason Showcase

The top young prospects in the Minnesota Wild’s system skated for a couple days in St. Paul this week ahead of the 2022 Tom Kurvers Prospect Showcase in Chicago this weekend.

The tournament is named for Kurvers, a longtime Wild scout, Bloomington-native and 1984 Hobey Baker winner who died in 2021 at age 58 due to complications stemming from lung cancer.

Among the players on the Wild roster for the Showcase are first-round draft picks Marco Rossi and Jesper Wallstedt and Minnesota-natives Sammy Walker (Edina / Gophers), Nick Swaney (Lakeville South / Minn-Duluth) and Sam Hentges (Totino-Grace / St Cloud St).

The Wild will play the Chicago Blackhawks Friday and Sunday, Sept. 18 at Fifth Third Arena in Chicago. Both games are free and open to the public.
