The Minnesota Vixen of the WFA Pro league is headed to Canton, OH to play for a national championship in a game being nationally televised game.

It’s a rematch of last season’s title game between the Vixen and the Boston Renegades.

With a 6-2 record, the Vixen ended their season undefeated at home and won a Women’s Football Alliance (WFA) conference title after a 36-30 win against Cali War.

The Renegades enter Sunday’s bout with an undefeated record of 8-0 and defeated the Vixen 42-26 last season in the championship game for their second straight national title.

“Getting there that first time and understanding what it’s all about, to be playing in that game and to be playing on the stage was a big moment for us,” said Ryan McCauley, the Vixen’s head coach.

McCauley was named the league’s coach of the year this season.

“This year, it’s going to be more of old hat, and we should be better prepared for it,” said McCauley about heading into another title game this Sunday.

The championship game on Sunday is scheduled to kickoff at 1 p.m. (CT) and is televised on ESPN2.
