Minnesota United is kicking off a new campaign with Allina Health, offering online fitness coaching for free.
A new video will be released every week in the month of July with workouts you can do from home.
"We could all use a little more fitness and we could also use a little more fun,” said Dr. Greg Folsom, one of the team’s physicians. “We think these videos brought both of those things."
The campaign, called Keep It Moving, features Minnesota United players leading exercises and soccer drills and Allina Health doctors offering advice on injury prevention.
Folsom said the videos are open to the public but especially encourages young athletes to log on since many were not able to train as usual over the past few months because of sports shutdowns due to COVID-19.
“Going into a season out of shape puts you at risk of being tired, but it also puts you at risk of injury,” Folsom said. “So we want to try to prevent that as much as we can."
