Minnesota United loses striker Amarilla; club drafts 2 first-round picks
Minnesota United on Thursday announced the club’s draft picks selected in the 2021 MLS Superdraft but also said one of its strikers is leaving.
Last year, the club had striker Luis Amarilla on a loan from his team in Argentina. However, his parent club is moving him to a team located in Ecuador. He scored three goals in 10 games last season for Minnesota United. However, he missed the last 13 matches with an ankle injury.
Also Thursday, the MLS Superdraft took place. The club turned one draft pick into two by selecting Wake Forest forward Justin McMaster and Cal-Davis defender Nabilai Kibunguchy.
