Video: Gophers football announces 33-member Signing Day 2023 class

P.J. Fleck announced Gopher Football’s 33-player Signing Day class of 2023 Wednesday morning. The class includes 28 high school signees and five moving to the University of Minnesota in the transfer portal.

Among the signees are eleven in-state players: DB Ethan Carrier (Detroit Lakes), LB Alec Elliott (Hutchinson), OL Greg Johnson (Prior Lake), P Caleb McGrath (Eastview), S Gary Monroe (Shakopee), DL Martin Owusu (Prior Lake), TE Sam Peters (Maple Grove), DB Jackson Powers (Maple Grove), QB Max Shikenjanski (Stillwater), OL Reese Tripp (Kasson-Mantorville), Jerome Williams (Osseo).

Per Fleck, Williams is the highest-rated recruit in the class.

The other “prized recruit” is RB Darius Taylor from Walled Lake, Michigan. Also recruited by Michgan, Notre Dame, Wisconsin and others, Taylor is a four-star prospect with gaudy high school statistics.
