McDermott-Mostowy said that while he’s been a speedskater for a while, this is his first time making it to the World Championships. He hopes this weekend can help pave the way to qualify for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
McDermott-Mostowy has family in the Twin Cities, plus the proximity to the John Rose Oval in Roseville, one of the best speed skating venues in the U.S., helped land him here. He’s a Washington D.C. native.
