Lynx forward Napheesa Collier spent Friday morning talking to reporters via Zoom from St. Charles, Missouri. That’s where she’s riding out the COVID-19 pandemic. Collier and the Lynx were supposed to open the 2020 season on Friday night in Chicago.
Instead, she spends the day working out at a gym inside a church she has access to and going through the workouts Lynx trainers have sent her and her teammates.

While wishing she and her Lynx teammates could be playing right now, Collier fully grasps the severity of the situation.
“With everything going on, it’s just not safe or feasible for us to (play) right now,” Collier said. “I think we’re all super excited to get on the court whenever that is and whatever that looks like, but it just can’t happen right now.
“It just kind of is what it is.”
Collier is open-minded to playing at some point this year, as long as every safety precaution is in place.
“If it’s at a safe location, we’re all quarantined together, we do the mandatory quarantine for 14 days, as long as the right precautions are taken, I absolutely want to play,” Collier said.
