Lynx forwards Achonwa, Carleton named to Canadian Olympic team
Two more members of the Minnesota Lynx will play in the Tokyo Olympics this summer.
Forwards Natalie Achonwa and Bridget Carleton were named to Canada’s Olympic roster.
It will be Achonwa’s third Olympic appearance after competing in 2012 and 2016 games. She made history as the youngest player ever selected to Canada’s national team at age 16.
Carleton will be making her Olympic debut but has played with Achonwa on the 2020 FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament team.
The Lynx now have four players competing on Olympic teams, with forward Napheesa Collier and center Sylvia Fowles set to compete for Team USA. Lynx Head Coach and General Manager Cheryl Reeve is also serving as an assistant coach for Team USA.
