Loons edge Colorado capitalizing on own goal late

Thanks to an own goal in the 89th minute, the Loons were able to capture three points on Wednesday night at Allianz Field, defeating Colorado, 2-1.

The winning score came when Loons midfielder Ethan Finlay attempted a pass on the right side of the penalty box for forward Raheem Edwards. Lalas Abubakar cut in front of Edwards and mistakenly headed the ball into his own net.

Robin Lod scored a goal for the Loons (8-5-6, 30 points), which extended their unbeaten streak to six games (3-0-3). Dayne St. Clair finished with three saves for the Loons.

The Loons are next in action Sunday, at Kansas City, at 6:30 p.m.
