Lions remove Stafford from COVID-19 list

The Detroit Lions activated quarterback Matthew Stafford from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Saturday meaning he’s on track to start against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.

Stafford did not practice with the Lions this week and still needs to pass one more round of tests to be cleared to play.

“I think if you called Matt Stafford on an April day and said, ‘Hey, we’re going to go play a 60-minute football game,’ he’d be able to go out there and rip it. He’d be fine,” Lions head coach Matt Patricia said about Stafford earlier in the week.

Stafford carries an 8-11 record against the Vikings in his career.
