Lindsay Whalen eligible for Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2022
The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame has announced its list of newly eligible candidates for the Class of 2022, including first-time nominee Lindsay Whalen.
Whalen, who starred on the University of Minnesota Gophers, Connecticut Sun, Minnesota Lynx and U.S. National team, is currently the head women’s basketball coach at the University of Minnesota.
She won four WNBA titles with the Lynx, was named All-WNBA five times, finished her career as the winningest player in league history, third in assists as well as top-20 in career points and steals. Internationally, Whalen won gold medals at the 2010 and 2014 World Championships plus gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympic games.
Finalists for the Class of 2022 will be announced on Feb. 18 with the full class being revealed in early April.
