Lakeville South and Chanhassen advance at Girls’ State Lacrosse Tournament

Lakeville South outlasted Rosemount to record a 14-13 victory in double-overtime in the first championship semifinal. Junior Emily Moes finished with six goals, including the winner for the Cougars. Senior Lauren Sheets added five goals for Lakeville South and sophomore Sivanna O’Brien finished with a goal and four assists.

Rosemount senior Sayla Lotysz paced the Irish with five goals and an assist. Senior Emma Duchscherer and freshman Emma Theisen added three points apiece for the Irish.

In the second semifinal, Chanhassen defeated Benilde-St. Margaret’s 11-8. Sophomore Gabrielle Bjugan accounted for five of the Storm’s goals. Seniors Leah Hodgins and Isabella Detienne added two goals apiece.

Sophomore Julia Evens scored five goals for Benilde-St. Margaret’s. Senior Tilly Wolfe and sophomore Maddie Kaltsas rounded out the scoring for the Red Knights. Wolfe had two goals and two assists and Kaltsas added one goal.

Top-seeded Chanhassen will face Lakeville South in the championship game at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday at Stillwater High School.
