Ibrahim a semifinalist for Doak Walker Award

University of Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim has advanced to a semifinalist for a national award.

Tuesday, the senior was named one of 10 semifinalists for the Doak Walker Award, which is given each year to the nation’s top running back.

It’s the second time Ibrahim has been a semifinalist for the award, joining 2020, when he was the Big Ten Running Back of the Year.

In 10 games this season, Ibrahim has paced all of college football with 19 rushing touchdowns and 152.4 yards per game. He’s second in total rushing yards, with 1,524.

Tuesday’s announcement comes a day after Ibrahim was named the conference’s offensive player of the week for his career-high 263-yard performance against Iowa.
