Hopkins boys hoops outlast Osseo

The Hopkins Royals boys basketball team defeated the Osseo Orioles 69-66 on Saturday afternoon at Totino-Grace High School, in the annual Breakdown Big 12 Classic, bringing together 12 of the best programs in the Twin Cities metro area for a collision of superpowers.

Osseo was led by senior guard Tyirece Waits who scored 34 points for the Orioles. Senior guard Benard Omooria added nine points and four assists for Osseo.
Hopkins was led by senior forward Elvis Nnaji who scored 16 points to go along with 11 rebounds and multiple massive slam dunks. Junior forward CJ O’Hara scored 17 points on 7-11 field goals, eighth grader Jayden Moore chipped in with 11 points and four assists, and senior guard Josh Hoffman scored 12 points, including 3-3 from three.
