The Gophers women’s hockey team will have to play the waiting game to see who they’ll face on Saturday afternoon at Ridder Arena. First up is No. 9 Harvard taking on No. 8 Minnesota-Duluth on Thursday for the right to face the Gophers.
Gophers coach Brad Frost’s team is chomping at the bit just to take the ice.
“Our team is a motivated group and is ready to go on Saturday. They’re hungry, I know whoever we play our team will bring the intensity,” said Frost.

“We don’t care who we play. We just want to get out there and take care of business,” said Taylor Heise, Gophers senior forward.
Heise added: “We’re just happy not to be playing on Thursday. We’ll take some time to rest and bond with one another before we take the ice on Saturday.”
The Gophers are 29-8-1 on the season and are the NCAA No. 2 overall seed. The winner of Saturday’s game will be heading to State College, Pennsylvania for the Women’s Frozen Four.
