The Minnesota Gophers women’s basketball team is looking for some traction. They resume play Thursday at Rutgers. They last played on Dec. 23.
"Our team has been working hard to get off to a good start in conference play. I know we’re in a good spot. We just need to keep pushing forward," said Gophers guard Gadiva Hubbard.

"You can’t worry about what the season may look like with games that are being canceled. You just need to put the work in and be ready when it’s game time. That’s exactly what we’ve been doing," said Gophers junior guard Jasmine Powell.
Minnesota is currently 7-7. They lost to Drake before having its game in late December with Northwestern postponed.
Third year guard/forward Sara Scalia continues to lead the team in scoring, averaging 15 points a game. Three of her teammates also average in double figures.
