Gophers softball coach Jamie Trachsel departing for Ole Miss

After three successful seasons at the University of Minnesota, softball coach Jamie Trachsel is leaving to accept the head coaching job at the University of Mississippi.

Multiple sources with knowledge of the situation shared the news with KSTP Sports late Thursday evening.

Trachsel guided the Gophers to the first College World Series appearance in program history last spring.

She departs after three seasons with a 102-40-1 record.

Trachsel’s successor will inherit a talent-laden roster reinforced by the additional year of eligibility granted to four Gopher seniors, including ace pitcher Amber Fiser, after the coronavirus pandemic cut the 2020 season short.
