Gophers QB Tanner Morgan named to Davey O’Brien Award watch list

University of Minnesota quarterback Tanner Morgan was named to the Davey O’Brien Award watch list Tuesday.
The award is presented to the best college quarterback each year. A total of 30 quarterbacks are on the list, including four in the Big Ten.
Morgan was one of 16 semifinalists for the award last season, when he set single-season school records for passing yards (3,253), touchdown passes (30), completion percentage (66%), passing yards per game (250.2), touchdown to interception ratio (4.28) and pass efficiency rating (178.7), on his way to being named All-Big Ten Second Team.
