Gophers PG Marcus Carr enters transfer portal, expected to test NBA waters again too
Gophers point guard Marcus Carr has entered the transfer portal. He’s also expected to test the NBA Draft waters, like he did last year, a source confirms to KSTP Sports.
Carr earned third-team All-Big Ten honors this season after averaging 19.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.9 assists. He had a career-high 41 points in a late February loss at Nebraska.
Carr started his college career at Pittsburgh in 2017 before leaving after one year due to a coaching change. He came to Minnesota, had to sit out a year, then starred the last two. After four years part of college programs, a pro future is said to be Carr’s No. 1 goal, per a source.
But if his NBA outlook isn’t defined after the pre-draft process, entering the portal gives him options.
The Gophers have also seen PG Jamal Mashburn Jr. and PF Jarvis Omersa enter the portal since the dismissal of coach Richard Pitino.
