Gophers opponents for 2021-22 men’s basketball season announced

Thursday, the University of Minnesota Gophers men’s basketball program announced its opponents for the upcoming season.

The team will have 20 conference regular-season games, with dates, times and broadcast information, as well as the team’s nonconference schedule, to be released at a later date.

During Big Ten play, the Gophers will play the following schools both at home and on the road: Indiana, Iowa, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin. Additionally, the Gophers will host Illinois, Purdue and Rutgers and will travel to play at Maryland, Michigan and Nebraska.

The Big Ten Championship will be played from March 9-13 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The upcoming season will be the program’s first under new head coach Ben Johnson.
