As the Gophers prepare for Purdue at TCF Bank Stadium on Friday, coach P.J. Fleck isn’t pushing the panic button after the 1-3 start. That includes a blowout loss vs. Iowa last week that now has seen the Hawkeyes win six consecutive games in the series. Fleck is now 1-6 vs. the Badgers and Hawkeyes as Gophers coach.

"First of all, if anyone expected us to win 11 games it’s impossible. We’re not going to even play 11 games. So, no matter what was going to happen, it was going to be under-achieving no matter if we were going to win them all. So, we had to make sure we know exactly what we have, what are we going to be able to develop, and what sacrifices are we going to have to make," said Fleck during his Monday news conference.

The bright spot by far is junior running back Mohamed Ibrahim. Ibrahim is leading the Big Ten in rushing with 715 yards and 10 touchdowns. He ranks 13th in rushing in the country.

The Gophers defense, on the other hand, is ranked last in the Big Ten, giving up nearly 36 points per game.

The Gophers-Purdue game is set for a 6:30 pm kick-off Friday night at TCF Bank Stadium. The Gophers are halfway through their regular season schedule.
