Gophers move to 5-0 with win over Jacksonville
The Gophers held Jacksonville to just 32 percent shooting on their way to a 55-44 win at Williams Arena. The Gophers are now 5-0. It’s the second straight year that the Gophers have gotten off to this unbeaten start.
Ben Johnson’s team, with assistant Dave Thorson leading the charge, have been rock-solid on the defensive end. They held Jacksonville to 1-for-15 shooting from three-point range.
Payton Willis and Jamison Battle, the team’s two leading scorers, combined for 31 points.
The Gophers return to action next Tuesday at Pittsburgh in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
