Gophers Men’s Hockey opener set for Nov. 19 vs. Penn State

Some of the Gophers’ 2020-2021 schedule has been announced, including a Thursday, November 19 opener vs. Penn State at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

The Big Ten announced the Gophers’ first eight games:

  1. Thursday, Nov. 19: Minnesota vs. Penn State
  2. Friday, Nov. 20: Minnesota vs. Penn State
  3. Monday, Nov. 23: Minnesota vs. Ohio State
  4. Tuesday, Nov. 24: Minnesota vs. Ohio State
  5. Thursday, Dec. 3: Minnesota at Michigan State
  6. Friday, Dec. 4: Minnesota at Michigan State
  7. Tuesday, Dec. 8: Minnesota at Michigan
  8. Wednesday, Dec. 9: Minnesota at Michigan

"We had to be patient, but we know we are playing hockey this month and that’s great news for our program," Minnesota head coach Bob Motzko said in a press release. "I’d again like to thank the Big Ten and our leaders here at Minnesota for their diligence in getting us to this point. We’re going to be smart and safe in how we proceed, but we are very excited for the puck to drop, and we can’t wait to see the rest of the schedule as it gets finalized."

Game times and television designations, as well as the remainder of the 2020-21 schedule and further details regarding the 2021 Big Ten Hockey Tournament, will be announced at a later date.
