Gophers leading scorer Sara Scalia enters transfer portal

Gophers leading scorer Sara Scalia announced on Twitter that she’s entering the NCAA’s transfer portal after three seasons at the University of Minnesota.

Scalia averaged 17.0 points per game during the 2021-22 season and made 41% of her three-pointers. A standout at Stillwater High School, Scalia has averaged 14.5 points a game during her three seasons at Minnesota.

Earlier in the week, leading rebounder Kadi Sissoko also announced she’s entering the transfer portal.

The Gophers went 15-18 in 2021-22 under head coach Lindsay Whalen. Whalen carries a 60-57 in four seasons as their head coach and was recently given a contract extension through 2025.
