Gophers guard Carr named to All-Big Ten teams

Tuesday, Minnesota Gophers guards Marcus Carr and Gabe Kalscheur were recognized by the conference for their performances.

Carr was named All-Big Ten Second Team by the media and All-Big Ten Third Team by the coaches. He was also named to the All-Big Ten First Team by the Associated Press.

Kalscheur was honored with Minnesota’s Sportsmanship Award.

In 27 games this year, Carr has averaged 19.6 points per game and 4.9 assists per game in 35.6 minutes per game. In his 58 games in his Gophers career, he’s averaged 17.4 points per game — which would rank ninth in school history (minimum of 40 games played) — and 5.82 assists per game.

Kalscheur has missed the past six games and is out indefinitely after breaking a finger during a practice on Feb. 16. At the time, he was the team’s third-leading scorer at 9.2 points per game.
