Gophers football standout eyeing special recognition
A Minnesota Golden Gophers offensive lineman is focusing on a postseason award before the 2021 football season even starts. Conner Olson was named to the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy.
The honor given by the Football Writers of America recognizes the top interior lineman in college football. Olson has played three different positions in 45 games for the Gophers over three seasons. The senior is set to break the Gophers football record for most career starts, which stands at 51 games.
Olson is from Monticello and plans to be a doctor following graduation from the University of Minnesota, where he has been a student for six years.
