Gophers football add future home-and-home series with Cal

The University of Minnesota football team said Tuesday it has agreed to a future home-and-home series with the California Golden Bears.

Cal will come to Minnesota on Sept. 16, 2028, and the Gophers will visit Berkeley on Sept. 1, 2029.

The first of the two games will be the seventh meeting all-time between the schools, with Cal holding a 4-2 advantage. They last played at TCF Bank Stadium in 2009, with Minnesota last winning against Cal in 1987.

The Gophers open the upcoming season on Sept. 3 at home against Florida Atlantic.
