Gophers-Badgers series postponed; series w/ Minnesota St. added
This weekend’s WCHA women’s hockey series between the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers and the Wisconsin Badgers has been postponed after positive COVID-19 tests were found within the Badgers’ program.
The two teams were set to play games on Friday and Saturday at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis. No make-up date has been determined yet.
On Thursday, the Gophers had their series at Ohio State (Dec. 11 & 12) postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests within the Buckeyes’ program.
In wake of the two canceled series, the Gophers have added two games against the Minnesota State Mavericks. The Gophers will host MSU-Mankato at Ridder Arena on Thursday, Dec. 10 (6:07 p.m.) & Friday, Dec. 11 (6:07 p.m.)
League play for the second half of the 2020-21 WCHA season will resume as early as Jan. 1. The post-holiday league schedule, along with the format for the 2021 WCHA Final Faceoff, will be announced at a later date.
