Gophers AD Coyle appointed to D-I Men’s Basketball Committee
University of Minnesota Athletics Director Mark Coyle has been appointed to the Division-I Men’s Basketball Committee, the NCAA said Thursday.
According to the NCAA, the men’s and women’s basketball committees were expanded from 10 to 12 members starting with the upcoming season. The committees consist of one member from each of the five autonomy conferences, three from the seven highest-ranked nonautonomy conferences based on basketball success, and four from the 20 other conferences.
Coyle was chosen as the Big Ten’s representative. All appointments are for a five-year term.
The committee is responsible for selecting, seeding and bracketing the field for the NCAA tournament.
