KSTP’s chat with Gophers long jumper/sprinter Charles Godfred

The Gophers men’s track and field team moved up a notch to #2 in the latest NCAA rankings, and sophomore long jumper Charle Godfred is ranked #1.

Godfred’s jump of 26’3.5″ at the South Florida Invitational in March stands as the best jump in the nation this spring. He also holds the Gophers record of 26’10.5″.

He was the Big Ten champion and a First Team All-American last season after arriving on campus in January. He finished sixth in the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Godfred also runs the 100m. His best time in that event ranks top ten in program history.
