Edina and Minnetonka are the only schools with three consecutive girls hockey championships. Edina will try for the record Saturday against Andover, who beat Minnetonka in the other Class AA semifinal.

#1-seeded Edina runs their State Tournament win streak to 11 games. Over the course of the 11 wins, they have allowed just 8 goals.

Tella Jungels opened the scoring against Maple Grove with a shorthanded goal for Edina late in the first period.

It remained 1-0 until Tellas’ sister Vivian Jungels made it a 2-goal margin with 4:36 remaining in regulation.

Lucy Bowlby hit an empty netter to give the Hornets the 3-0 win.

For Corneia, it’s a chance for a third straight title of her own. She backstopped Breck to back-to-back State Championships as a 7th and 8th grader before enrolling at Edinafor high school.

Edina and Andover will play for the title Saturday in a rematch of a season-opening game Andover won 1-0. Edina (28-1) hasn’t lost or tied a game since.
