Eagan-native Joey King was part of the first wave of players who played for Richard Pitino when he began his tenure as head coach of the Gopher basketball team.

King spent three years at Minnesota under Pitino from 2013-14 season through the 2015-16 season.
He spoke with KSTP Sports from USA Basketball’s 3-on-3 training camp in Orlando. King is part of an 8-member squad at the camp which is preparing players for global competitions including the 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics.
