Coughlin spoke from the heart, stressing, "Love overcomes hate," and that, "America needs to buy in. Anyone who doesn’t on racism, needs to get out."
Coughlin, a natural leader, is the oldest of five siblings in his family. He has a brother who is a year younger, a sister who is two years younger and an adopted sister and brother from Haiti.
When asked if meaningful conversations can result in real progress when it comes to the oppression and racism black people regularly deal with, Coughlin said, "I have hope it’s going to change."
