Former Apple Valley high school star Gary Trent Jr. is enjoying a breakout year with the Blazers.

Note: this conversation took place before the NBA’s restart plan was announced, which includes Trent Jr. and Portland

Before the COVID-19 pandemic that suspended the NBA season, Trent Jr. saw action in 53 games and averaged 7.7 points per game, shot 42.6% from the field and 38.8% from three-point range. He had a career-high 30 points in a game in January vs. Oklahoma City.

The former second-round (No. 37 overall) draft pick in the 2018 NBA Draft out of Duke was originally selected by the Sacramento Kings, but was immediately traded to the Blazers.
