The Edina girls hockey team improved to 3-0 this season with a 4-0 win against North Wright County Saturday at Braemar Arena.
Emma Conners, who committed to the Gophers hockey program earlier in the week, opened the scoring for the Hornets early in the first period. Conners went end to end and scored just 41 seconds in the first period to make it 1-0 Edina.
The Hornets added one more in the first when junior forward Berit Lindborg scored out front to make in 2-0 Edina heading into the first intermission.
Junior captain Vivian Jungels kept the Edina attack going in the second period. Her slap-shot on the power play was on the mark to give the Hornets a 3-0 lead. They’d add one more in the third when Haley Maxwell scored with 20 seconds remaining.
Edina hosts Blake Tuesday night.
