The Vikings introduced their new coordinators, including defensive coordinator Ed Donatell.

Donatell, 65, was the Denver Broncos defensive coordinator from 2019-21. He moved on after Denver fired head coach Vic Fangio. Donatell recently joined the Seahawks as a senior defensive assistant, but escaped to come work for Kevin O’Connell.

“We got a lot of work to do, but nobody’s gonna have more fun than we are,” Donatell said Thursday. “We’re gonna have a good time.”

Prior to working in Denver, Donatell spent 2015-18 in the NFC North as the Bears defensive backs coach. He also worked as the Packers defensive coordinator from 2000-03 and has spent time working for the Redskins, Jets, and Falcons.

Donatell, when asked about star defensive end Danielle Hunter, noted that the plan is for Hunter to play defensive end and outside linebacker. The Vikings will play defenses with 3-4 and 4-3 looks.
