Eastview boys hoops win OT thriller over Cretin-Derham Hall

The Eastview Lightning boys basketball team defeated the Cretin-Derham Hall Raiders 81-78 in overtime, on Thursday evening, at East Ridge High School.

Eastview controlled the first half en route to a 40-32 halftime lead. The second brought intensity. The Raiders were led by senior guards Donavhan Cain and Tre Holloman. Cain and Holloman fought to bring back the Raiders to tie the game up. Holloman attempted a three-point shot at the end of regulation, but did not convert, sending the game into overtime.

In overtime, Lightning senior guard Kenji Scales hit a game-winning three-pointer with 3.9 remaining to lift Eastview to victory.

For the Raiders, Cain fouled out in regulation with 25 points. Holloman finished the game with 27 points and senior forward Brandon Melchior added an additional 12 points for Cretin-Derham Hall.

For the Lightning, Scaled led the team with 24 points. Senior forward Jamal Ambrose scored 15 points and senior guard Sammy Bolger added 11 for Eastview.
