Eastview boys hoops has state title in its sights

At 19-2 and ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, the Eastview boys basketball team has a real shot to win a state championship. KSTP Sports was at a recent practice and caught up with senior leader Steven Crowl and coach Paul Goetz.

Crowl, who is 6-feet-10 with range that extends beyond the three-point line, is a Wisconsin Badgers signee. He said that the way last year ended — a state quarterfinal loss vs. East Ridge — motivates him and his teammates.

Eastview has played a challenging schedule, with its lone hiccups vs. No. 1 in 4A, Eden Prairie, and vs. Lakeville South. Both losses were by single digits.
