The Minnesota Wild made another move before the trade deadline, adding Nick Deslauriers from Anaheim for a 3rd round pick. He joins Tyson Jost who came over from Colorado for Nico Sturm.

Nick Deslauriers skated with his new team on Sunday morning at TRIA Rink in St. Paul.

“I’m excited to be here. I had a feeling I’d go somewhere I just wasn’t sure where,” Deslauriers said after practice Sunday. “I packed three big bags and waited for my agent to call, as soon as he did I shipped out to Minnesota. Since I know some of the guys on the team including my friend Marcus Foligno I couldn’t be happier.”

Deslauriers will play on the fourth line and will add another enforcer to the mix.

“I played with Nick (Deslauriers) in Buffalo and I know how tough he is,” Foligno said. “He’ll make us bigger and stronger in a good way and I think that’ll help us as we move forward with the season.”

The Wild will host the Las Vegas Golden Knights Monday night at the Xcel Energy Center at 7:00 p.m.
