Q&A: Cooper’s Jaxon Howard excited for senior football season and future LSU career

Jaxon Howard had his last first day of the high school football season earlier this week. The leader of Robbinsdale Cooper, Howard has played varsity since he was in 9th grade.

We caught up with the LSU commitment to chat about Cooper’s outlook this year, what role he’ll play, how life has changed since his July decision to play in the SEC, and some of the backlash he’s received for turning down the hometown Gophers.

Howard is 6-foot-4 and weighs around 240 lbs. He plays defensive end and tight end for the Hawks, will focus on being a pass rusher in Baton Rouge.

Howard will graduate early and head to LSU in January to begin winter workouts with his new teammates.
