Coon Rapids wide receiver Khijohnn Cummings-Coleman had a pretty good sophomore season last year with around 400 receiving yards. This year, though, things have been different – in a very good way.

He blew up for 400 total yards and 286 yards in Week Two against Buffalo – the 5th-best single-game receiving total in state history according to Coaches Association records. He ranks third in the state for receiving yards so far this season.

Khi attributes his leap this season to hard work this past offseason both on football and basketball. He’s also been named one of the captains of the Cardinals basketball team this coming winter.

Earlier this fall, he received a college offer during a visit to Iowa State earlier this fall and has since heard from several other interested colleges including Minnesota, North Dakota State and Iowa.
