Cold Spring takes down Eagan in Legion baseball

The Cold Spring Springers defeated the Eagan Bandits 6-3, Saturday afternoon at Chanhassen High School.

The Springers jumped out to a 1-0 when right fielder Brian Hansen hit a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first inning. Later in the inning, Zach Femrite had an RBI sacrifice fly to make it 2-0 Springers. Then, center fielder, Will Huls hit a 2-RBI single to put Cold Spring up 4-0 after the first inning.
Eagan answered back in the top of the third inning when player/manager/first baseman JD Dorgan hit an RBI double to make it a 4-1 ballgame.
But, the Springers would have an answer in the bottom half of the third inning when shortstop Sean Terres hit an RBI single to make it 5-1 Cold Spring.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, Hansen hit his second home run of the game to make it 6-1 in favor of the Springers.
Eagan would add two more runs, but Cold Spring pitcher Chris Butala got the complete-game win for the Springers.
