Chisago City native Aron Johnson preparing for NFL Draft

Former Chisago Lakes high school and South Dakota St. offensive lineman Aron Johnson is hopeful that he’ll land with an NFL team later this month. He has a chance to get drafted, or could sign a free agent contract soon afterwards. The NFL Draft is April 28-30.

Johnson played in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Pasadena in January, a chance to showcase in front of scouts. 25 NFL teams also had representation at last month’s South Dakota State Pro Day, where Johnson went through numerous drills.

He started games for the Jackrabbits at left and right tackle over his five years in the program.

Johnson stopped by the KSTP studios on Monday to discuss his path to the NFL.

Johnson helped lead South Dakota St. to the FCS semifinals last season.

Johnson recently visited the Vikings on a top-30 visit.
