Caufield scores twice as No. 11 Badgers topple No.2 Gophers

Cole Caufield scored two goals as the 11th ranked Wisconsin Badgers beat the Minnesota Golden Gophers 4-1 Friday night at 3M Arena at Mariucci.

Caufield opened the scoring in the first period and gave the Badgers a 2-1 lead with his second goal of the night in the third period. Caufield leads the nation with 16 goals this season. Wisconsin scored three goals in a 2:18 stretch in the third period.

Minnesota’s lone goal was by Sammy Walker in second period.

The Gophers face-off against Wisconsin again on Saturday night at 7:00 pm in Minneapolis
