Following a recent practice in Eagan, we caught up with Vikings safety Xavier Woods. He will start alongside veteran Harrison Smith when the Vikings open their season Sept. 12 at Cincinnati.

Woods, a sixth-round pick out of Louisiana Tech in 2017, started four games as rookie for Dallas. He became a full-time starter for the Cowboys the next three years.
He signed a 1-year deal with the Vikings in March, that’s worth up to $2.25 million.
