Former Gophers football coach Jerry Kill is now a special assistant at TCU under best friend Gary Patterson.

Our Darren ‘Doogie’ Wolfson recently caught up with Kill, who mentioned he recently beat cancer for a third time. Since departing the ‘U’ in 2015, Kill has had stops at Rutgers, Kansas State, Southern Illinois, Virginia Tech, and now TCU.

Antoine Winfield Jr., Tyler Johnson, Kamal Martin, and Carter Coughlin are Kill recruits, who were drafted last month. They came up in the conversation, as did new Vikings CB Jeff Gladney. Kill knows Gladney, the former Horned Frog, through Patterson.

Finally, Wolfson asked Kill about where things stand between him and current Gophers coach P.J. Fleck, and his thoughts on the Gophers’ great 2019 season.
