In the first half, Cretin-Derham jumped out to a 7-0 lead. Raiders junior star Tre Holloman, who has a Gopher offer, controlled the offense and hit multiple shots to lead Cretin with 11 first-half points.

But, Woodbury would hang tough. Senior guard Bradley Cimperman had seven first-half points and senior guard Devin Padelford had 6 to help the Royals make it a 29-25 halftime score in favor of Cretin-Derham Hall.

In the second half, the Raiders again jumped out to a 7-0 run to make it an 11 point Cretin lead with 14:30 left in the game.

Woodbury would again fight back. Padelford and senior guard Mac Lockner would hit big threes for the Royals, making it 43-38 with just under nine minutes remaining. Then, Cimperman hit a three to put Woodbury within three with 1:27 left in the game.

The Raiders would get a layup, but then fouled Cimperman on a three-point attempt. He would make all three to make it a 55-54 game with 58.5 left. Following a Raiders turnover, the Royals were left with 25 seconds, down by one point. The Royals would get fouled and hit one of two free throws to tie the game at 55 with 8.9 left.

Holloman would rebound the missed free throw, bring the ball up the court, and hit a step-back three at the buzzer to win the game for Cretin-Derham Hall, 58-55. Holloman finished with 25 points for the Raiders.

It was the second straight year the Raiders have won Section 4AAAA with a buzzer-beater. Last year, Cretin defeated East Ridge as the time expired on a three-point shot.

The Raiders advance to the State Tournament.
