Bethel football looks ahead to second round of NCAA DIII playoffs

The Bethel Royals’ 11th trip to the NCAA DIII Football Playoffs has reached the second round. The Royals head to McMinnville, Ore. on Saturday to face No. 5 Linfield University.
The (9-2) Royals defeated Wheaton College (Illinois) 34-32 last weekend in the opening round of the playoffs. Bethel’s senior quarterback Jaran Roste threw for 141 yards and a touchdown in the win.

The Royals’ next opponent, Linfield University, is 10-0 on the season including 5-0 on their home field.
Bethel hasn’t advanced beyond the second round of the playoffs since the 2018 season. Kickoff at McMinnville is scheduled for 2 p.m. (CT) on Saturday.
