Edina isn’t happy with the outcome on homecoming losing to Bemidji 35-0, however the consolation is the Hornets were able to have a game.
Earlier this week, Edina Athletic Director Troy Stein was looking for an opponent for homecoming, when the Hornets original opponent St. Michael-Albertville had to pull out of the game. After Stein reached out on Twitter, Bemidji answered the call and made the three and a half hour drive south to play Edina on homecoming.

Bemidji got off to a slow start and then settled in on offense. The Lumberjacks got on the board in the first quarter with a Will Falldorf one yard touchdown run, making it 7-0 in the first quarter.
After Bemidji took a 7-nothing lead into the locker room at halftime, the Lumberjacks offense stepped it’s game up scoring 28 points in the second half.
The defense for Bemidji was equally impressive. They kept the Hornets scoreless not only in the game, but on the season. Edina hasn’t scored a touchdown in three games.
Bemidji improves to 2-1 on the season, while Edina slips to 0-3.
This was the first meeting between the two schools in football.
