Becker rallies to knock off top ranked Hutchinson on the road

After trailing 14-0 in the first quarter, Becker scored 17 unanswered points on their way to a 24-22 win over the top team in Class 4A, Hutchinson Friday at Rostberg Stadium.

Hutchinson found the end zone on their first two drives of the game with back-to-back scoring rushes from senior Levi Teetzel putting the Tigers in front 14-0.

The Bulldogs had some bite left in them. Becker scored 17 unanswered points, regaining the lead after a touchdown pass from Ryan Bengtson to Kyan Blomquist late in the third quarter.

The Tigers made one more bid for a victory with a scoring run by AJ Ladwig, putting Hutchinson up 22-17 with eight and half minutes left in the game.

Becker jumped back in front for the final time after a one-yard scoring plunge by Isaiah Gardner with 4:32 remaining.

With the 24-22 win, Becker improves to 3-1 overall this season, including a three game winning streak. The Bulldogs will host Big Lake on September 30.

Hutchinson sustained their first loss of the season, and is now 3-1 overall. The Tigers will host Rocori next Friday night.
